Failed Third Interview#
Originally, I wanted to write a blog post to record the entire interview process, but then I thought it wasn't necessary, so I'll just briefly talk about it in today's weekly report.
In the previous weekly report, I mentioned that I participated in the final interview on Tuesday afternoon after passing the second interview on Monday. Since I had never participated in a third-round interview before, I asked the HR responsible for recruitment in advance about the content of the third interview. I learned that the content of the third interview was similar to the second interview, mainly focusing on self-introduction and questions about off-campus and on-campus practical experience.
The interview started at around 3:30 pm on Tuesday afternoon. Maybe because I wasn't well-prepared, I was very nervous when introducing myself and my speech was not smooth. After introducing my on-campus and off-campus practical experience, I waited for the interviewer to ask questions. When she asked if there were any areas for improvement in my department's work during my internship at the company and if I could make relevant suggestions, I was a bit stunned. It took me a few seconds to recall my one-month internship experience, and the only thing I could think of was that the department was understaffed and overwhelmed with work. So, my suggestion was to hire more people, improve management awareness, and time management. However, the interviewer was not satisfied with this answer and guided me to answer in the direction of employee training. She then asked me what professional knowledge and skills are required for human resources management personnel, and I didn't answer that well either. Finally, she asked me which module of the six major modules of human resources I would start with if I joined the company. After asking these questions, the interview ended, lasting about 15 minutes in total. Seeing such a short time, I already anticipated the result.
On the morning of September 20th, I received a text message notification that I did not pass the third interview. I felt a little disappointed at the moment I saw the message, but it was also expected, so I didn't feel too down. I can only say that I need to work harder, be more confident, and better opportunities will come.
Initial Experience with Infuse#
I first learned about Infuse in relation to Alist. In my understanding, Infuse is like a media player and also a TV series management tool. It automatically downloads metadata and allows you to create a personal media library. It supports all Apple devices, and I only have iOS and iPadOS devices, so I can have a good experience with it.
The latest version of Infuse officially supports adding Aliyun Drive. Previously, it required mounting through Alist as an intermediary, but now it's more convenient. However, this feature requires a Pro membership, and I chose to purchase it through the Turkey region, which costs 27 yuan/year, the price of two cups of milk tea. Turkish region gift cards can be purchased on idle fish.
Since I am a beta user of Aliyun Drive, I don't have to worry too much about storage space, and I have the habit of deleting videos after watching them. But if I want to watch videos in higher quality, I need to subscribe to a membership. I'm still hesitant because I don't want to spend the money, but Infuse supports original quality and Dolby Vision, providing a better visual and auditory experience. In addition, it supports downloading metadata, which is also an attractive feature for me as it allows me to create a beautiful personal media library.
The advantages of Infuse compared to Aliyun Drive have been mentioned above, but there are also some drawbacks. For example, the video playback speed and metadata download speed are slightly slower, but I can accept it, so I don't really mind.
Also, I have to say, Apple's software ecosystem is really well done.
Changes to the Website#
There haven't been many major changes, just some modifications.
I added a page introducing CloudCone and will update the discount information of CloudCone irregularly. Its affiliate commission is as high as 30%, which is enough for me to renew my VPS for four years.
In addition, I didn't remove the seal image in the upper right corner, but used it as an entrance to random articles. Clicking on it will take you to any article, inspired by 椒盐豆豉's blog.
While I am subtracting, I am also adding some optional additions. I still maintain a simple and plain style, avoiding being flashy and cluttered. I hope to create my own style that people can recognize at a glance.
Interesting Things and Objects#
- Emoji Kitchen: Google's emoji combination feature, originally only available on Gboard, is now added to the search engine. Just search for "emoji kitchen" and you can use it. It's not just a simple 1+1=2, it accurately creates a "chemical reaction" with emojis to generate new emoji images. I also found a few similar websites (Emoji Kitchen Browser, Emoji Kitchen), which are quite interesting.
- Li Tiaotiao Custom Rules: I have been using Li Tiaotiao for over a year. Initially, I didn't find this custom rules repository and only used the software's default settings, which include skipping splash screen ads, automatically clicking on original images in WeChat, and skipping NetEase Cloud Music/TikTok update pop-ups. After adding custom rules, most of the ads in the information flow can be automatically skipped. Although Li Tiaotiao is no longer being updated, the original software can still be used, and there are alternative choices, such as 开屏跳过 and gkd.
- Management Quarterly Journal "Eight Key Points of Paper Writing": I have been busy with my graduation thesis recently. It took a lot of time just to choose a topic. I came across this simple tutorial online. Remember these eight key points: Broad issue, Conventional wisdom, Research gap, Contribution, Story, Concepts, Hypotheses, Audience.
- Lao Cao Scholar's "Self-Management System Practice": I often hear about other people's knowledge management systems, but rarely see anyone sharing their self-management systems. As mentioned in the article, self-management is a relatively large category, and knowledge management is one of them. I also studied management, human resources management, but managing oneself is very different from managing others. Managing others involves many aspects and interactions with many people, while managing oneself is more like a self-game. It's important to manage oneself well before gradually extending to a larger scope.
- China Newsweek's "Is It Reasonable to Decouple the College English Test Band 4 and Band 6 from Graduation and Degree Certificates?": I think it's reasonable. There are people who have spent four years and still couldn't get a score of 425 in the Band 4 exam. Perhaps they don't have the ability to learn English, no matter how hard they try. But they can still get high scores in other subjects. If they are unable to obtain their graduation and degree certificates because of this, it would be too unfair. In addition, translation tools are very advanced now, and people without English proficiency can easily read English content with the help of translation tools. The Band 4 and Band 6 exams should not be tied to graduation and degree certificates, but they should still be taken into account as many companies still value English proficiency when recruiting. I consider myself lucky as I passed both the Band 4 and Band 6 exams on my first attempt.
- Watched "Train to Busan": After watching the first movie and thinking back to the second one, I can't help but curse: What did they make in the second movie? It truly deserves to be a classic in the zombie genre. Although it's about zombies, it reflects real-life situations everywhere. In the face of disaster, human nature is like a person stripped naked, completely exposed.
- Watched "The Breakthrough": Wang Baoqiang's previous movie, "Journey to the West: The Demons Strike Back," was a terrible film and won the Golden Broom Award. Five years later, "The Breakthrough" can change people's impression of Wang Baoqiang. After watching so many comedy movies he starred in, his sleazy, funny, and ridiculous image has deeply rooted in people's minds. Now, he suddenly becomes a middle-aged martial artist, which is quite a contrast. I think it's pretty good and worth watching. It can be seen as a true portrayal of himself. The child from the mountains walks out of the mountains through martial arts, just as he did in Hebei province.
- On September 21st, I received a peripheral gift from @佐玩, a mug with the Zolplay logo on it. It looks very nice, has weight and texture, and the packaging box is also very exquisite.
- On September 21st, I saw the notice of the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday on the school's official website. The two days of the holiday happen to have no classes. So, counting, it's an 11-day holiday. It seems to be the first 11-day National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday in my life, and I also realized that it might be the last long holiday.
These are the things and objects from this week. I hope to review each week in a relaxed and calm manner, and I hope that friends who subscribe to my blog can calmly read my sharing and continue to love their lives. Life is not just about nonsense.
